Do you know what you would do in the event that your dog began choking? What if they were cut badly, would you be able to stop the bleeding? These and so many other questions may seem daunting because, for many, the answer is ‘no.’ For some of us, our first reaction is to panic. Knowing first aid provides us with the skills and confidence to react in these situations and to potentially save lives.
Why is dog first aid important?
Bringing a dog into your home means making it a part of your family. When you have children, you learn how to take care of them and what to do when they get hurt because your children trust you. Your dog trusts you too. It’s important to know how to take care of every member of your family. Knowing dog first aid could be the difference between a temporary or permanent injury.
Canine first aid is more than having an emergency kit ready or to know the best route to the emergency veterinarian hospital, it’s providing yourself with the peace of mind and know-how to increase the likelihood of your dog’s survival during an accident or any kind of emergency. Knowing dog first aid could be the factor that saves your dog’s life.
Our dog first aid course has been fostered as a method to teach dog owners how to become confident in responding to injury, illness, or emergency situations.
